Going green has never been more fun!
Saturday, November 16, at 5 p.m.–Sunday, November 17, at 9 a.m.
Middle school girls are invited to a special overnight adventure at the Science Museum that’s designed just for them! Girls ages 11–14 can learn about the environment, weather, changing climates and much more through activities, demos and exhibits.
Saturday night is packed with live demos and hands-on activities themed around protecting the environment. Campers will:
After a star-studded custom live astronomy show in The Dome, it's lights out for a memorable “camping” experience inside your favorite museum.
On Sunday, after fueling up from breakfast, campers can explore the Science Museum's numerous exhibitions, including the touring exhibition MathAlive! to discover the fascinating ways math shapes music, sports, movies, games and more. Campers can also take advantage of early access to the gift shop to purchase items to keep the STEM exploration shining bright at home.
Despite progress in the last decade, men still outnumber women in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workforce. Seeing fewer role models in scientific fields and not being exposed to clear career paths for majoring in STEM fields in college has led to women making up less than 35% of STEM positions.
Girls in Science is helping fill that gap by exposing young girls to a wide range of STEM topics, and by promoting discovery, offering inspiration and building confidence.
Girls in Science is sponsored by DuPont.
