Ghouls just want to have fun!

Get into the Halloween spirit with a night full of frighteningly fun STEM activities. No tricks here! Grab your ghoul friends and treat them to Spooky Science on Friday, October 25, from 5–8 p.m. Family friendly costumes are encouraged!

  • See live demos of curious concoctions as you learn about mysterious property changes. Foaming pumpkins: need we say more?!
  • This activity is shocking! Watch an educator turn regular bubbles into boo bubbles using dry ice.
  • Enjoy Frankenstein-inspired dissections. We know you won't mind watching educators slice into a brain!
  • This activity is lit! Create beeswax candles to make your Halloween event extra spooky in The Forge.
  • Guests ages five and younger can make a spider to take home.

Our friends at the Virginia Section of the American Chemical Society will also join us for Spooky Science. They'll have interactive science stations for your little ghosts and goblins to explore with dozens of fun activities for them to sink their fangs into!

Are you scared that's all we're offering? Are you screaming for more? Ok, no problem!

We promise a wicked-good time so we’re offering Laser Shows in The Dome. Enjoy a Halloween-themed music-and-light performance complete with appearances from a ghost rider, Dracula, Slimer, Beetlejuice, a mummy, a zombie and lots more. This new offering features a thrilling 30-minute monster mash-up that’s truly spook-tacular, especially because it’s INCLUDED with admission!

Don't miss this chance to celebrate all things mysterious and enchanting about STEM.
