Does being slow, small or weak have advantages? Sometimes, yes! Survival of the Slowest takes its time and proves just that. Featuring a variety of live animals, this touring exhibition explores overlooked species that have used perceived disadvantages that help them not only survive, but thrive in a world full of fast animals at the top of the food chain.

Discover sloths’ tactics to avoid predators, iguanas’ energy conservation and one owl species’ intentional diet. See how general biology concepts apply in the real world and how animal survival is all about trade-offs. Understand how some critters find unique ways to hide from adversaries.

Take your time going through the exhibition and you’ll be rewarded with an animal adventure that’s sure to leave prints on your entire family’s memory!

Survival of the Slowest is produced by Little Ray’s Nature Centres in collaboration with the Canadian Museum of Nature.

On display May 23–September 7, 2026.
