Invest In Inspiration

The Science Museum of Virginia plays a unique role in our community—providing a lens through which to view the world around us, a safe and welcoming place for exploration and inquiry, for problem solving, for experimenting with new tools and ideas. Your charitable gift not only ensures the Science Museum is here for all to enjoy, but it also fuels the important behind-the-scenes work necessary to set the stage for discovery, spark interest and facilitate learning through the most dynamic technology, learning platforms and educational approaches recognized today.

The Science Museum of Virginia Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID #23-7185836) established to support the education mission of the Science Museum of Virginia. The Science Museum of Virginia Foundation Board of Directors provides oversight, guidance and community connections in support of the Foundation's goals.

The Foundation’s financial records are available online through Guidestar or learn about major Science Museum milestones in our Annual Report.

Volunteer Support for the Science Museum Foundation

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council brings the insight and service of an additional group of interested community leaders and staunch supporters with a history of service to the Science Museum. Advisory Council members each have a special interest in the Science Museum, may have at one time served on the Foundation Board of Directors or the Science Museum’s Board of Trustees, or who wish to support the Science Museum in a more formal manner.

Liaison Committee

The Liaison Committee was formed to entertain visiting speakers and cultivate community and corporate support through social functions. In the past, the Liaison Committee has successfully hosted special events, social gatherings and exhibit openings. Today, the committee explores new avenues of involvement with potential growth in their membership and expansion of the committee’s scope and focus related to the Science Museum's mission to inspire all Virginians to enrich their lives through science and support initiatives of the strategic plan.
