April is the perfect time to head out into nature. Not only is it when we celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day, it’s also Stress Awareness Month. So here are our staff and volunteer recommendations for their favorite spots to bike, hike, and just simply observe the natural world.

In order to inspire girls to go into STEM careers, they have to know what types of jobs are available. With a nod to our traveling exhibition Mental Health: Mind Matters, our recent Girls in Science event focused on careers in medicine, neuroscience, and mental health.
Do you remember what happened in 2004? That was the last time 15 states experienced the emergence of the 17-year periodical cicadas! If we move forward 17 years, that takes us to today when the process is happening all over again.
