Science helps us answer big questions, and they don't get bigger than this: are we alone in the universe? That's a huge age-old question that science has been piecing together bit by bit over the years. Does this mean we're getting closer to knowing if there's life out there?

In 2010, the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull produced an immense ash cloud that grounded airline travel and shipping all over Europe, canceling over 100,000 flights. Inconvenienced travelers were stranded in airports for days and the airline industry lost over $1 billion in revenue.

They say everything's bigger in Texas. Apparently that includes renewable energy generated by wind power! Texas is leading the nation in generating wind power.

Mt. Pelee's claim to fame, if you will, was the violent eruption of 1902 which killed nearly 30,000 people and destroyed the nearby city of St. Pierre, considered at the time to be the “Paris of the Caribbean.”

Big milestones in science are to be celebrated. While the moon captivated everyone's attention recently, a pretty big mission was launched to further understand the moon.
