From campfire stories of the night sky to knowledge about our ever expanding universe, the cosmos has always fascinated human beings. However, one of the biggest questions still remains unanswered.

As summer temperatures begin to rise, we turn to our old friend air conditioning, but what about all those people around the world without electricity?

For 250,000 years, humanity has looked up at the vastness of the night sky and wondered what else could possibly be out there. Over the years our search has become a bit more fine-tuned, but we still ponder that big question.

The Solar Impulse 2 plane successfully ended its around-the-world trip without using a drop of fossil fuel. While this journey is being celebrated, it’s also raising a lot of questions about the impact on how we visit relatives, make work trips, and plan our vacations.

We asked our volunteer and all around space enthusiast Tyler Hutchison to put together his Top 5 NASA moments to help celebrate this momentous occasion in history: the creation of our space exploration program.
